Annual (Anethum graveolens). This type was developed in Denmark and is particularly sweet and mellow to go well with classic Nordic cuisine. This is a fantastic plant to raise for homemade dill pickles because of the extraordinarily huge seed heads. Produces leaves that are dark blue-green and ideal for salads and sauces, grilled salmon, and summer veggies. Swallowtail butterfly host plants include dill.
