Chrysanthemum maximum is a hardy perennial that is well-suited for cut flower and cottage gardens. Featuring abundant white petals surrounding a yellow center, these 3-5" blooms are sure to draw beneficial insects to your garden. This easy to grow flower will reach full maturity in its second year of growth and is resistant to deer. To get started, sow the seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last average frost date. Press them into soil without covering them as they need light for germination. After the last frost, you can directly seed or transplant seedlings outdoors when the soil can be worked.
