Abelmoschus esculentus, also known as Perkins Long Pod, is a variety of okra that produces long, slender green pods, approximately 6" in length. Unlike most other okra varieties, these pods do not become hard. This highly productive bushy plant produces pods from as low as 3" from the ground all the way to the top. Perkins Long Pod okra is versatile and can be used for canning, picking, frying, soups, and gumbo.
