Glass Gem Corn Seeds - Heirloom Seeds, Ornamental Corn, Heirloom Popcorn, Flour Corn, Flint Corn, Hominy, Polenta, Cornbread, Non-GMO
Glass Gem is a stunningly beautiful and vibrant variety of heirloom corn (Zea mays), considered by many to be the most colorful and attractive of all heirloom corn. It was bred by Carl "White Eagle" Barnes from native corn varieties and can be grown for both ornamental purposes and consumption. The translucent kernels of Glass Gem corn shine like glass and display a rainbow of colors, making it a unique and striking addition to any garden. The sturdy stalks of this variety bear 4-8 inch long ears, with 2-3 ears per stalk, that are equally as colorful and beautiful as the kernels. This dual-purpose corn can be used for popping or ground into flour for use in a variety of culinary applications. It is particularly delicious when used for making grits, popcorn, hominy, and tortillas.
